Janczewski brothers: two Macomb Township teens race BMX worlds in Australia

MACOMB TOWNSHIP. Chase Janczewski, 15, and his brother Cameron, 14, leave this week for Brisbane, Australia, to race in the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships, the sport's 40th annual title event. More than 3,000 riders from over 50 countries are entered. Cameron races Friday, July 24, in the 14-year-old Boys Challenge division; Chase competes in the 16-year-old group.

Both brothers started BMX before they were 10, back when the family lived in Georgia. These days they train at Waterford Oaks, a track that's been open more than 50 years. "To see how much we've improved from when we first started, we couldn't jump or do wheelies or do any of that," Cameron said.
