Nox Metals: a seven-month-old startup raises $11.5 million

DETROIT. Nox Metals, a Southwest Detroit startup that's seven months old, has closed an $11.5 million seed round led by New York's Hyperion. Y Combinator, Palmer Luckey, RoboStrategy, Alumni Ventures, Operator Collective and DTX Ventures all joined in. CEO Zane Hengsperger plans to use the money to renovate a 30,000-square-foot, World War II-era factory in Detroit this summer, adding room to hire and scale up production.
