Clawson Cinema in the Street: Star Wars takes over Main Street

CLAWSON. Main Street closes to traffic Saturday, July 25, for Cinema in the Street, a free screening of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" that starts at dusk after a 6 p.m. warmup. It runs alongside the regular Clawson Market, which opens at 3 p.m. that day.

Kids can build lightsabers out of pool noodles at no charge, there's a costume contest with prizes, and members of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming group, will pose for photos. Vendor booths and a raffle for local gift cards round out the night. About 300 people came out last year for "The Force Awakens"; organizers expect the same or more this time. Bring your own chair.
