Fraser Lions Club Carnival: rides, wristbands, and a Sunday parade
FRASER. The Lions Club Carnival takes over Steffens Park, at Garfield and 14 Mile, July 23 through 26, with rides running from 5 to 10 p.m. the first two days and from noon to 11 p.m. on the weekend. A daily unlimited wristband costs $30 plus a $2 activation fee; buy it before 4 p.m. on July 23 and it's $5 cheaper. The carnival usually draws 15,000 to 20,000 people.
New this year are a mobile aviary on Saturday and a soft play area for kids five and under. There's also a petting zoo and pony rides Saturday and Sunday, a foam party Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., a family improv show Saturday at noon, and live bands at the beer tent all four days. The Sunday parade, themed "America 250," steps off at noon from Fraser High School and heads down Garfield to City Hall, with fireworks to close the weekend.
