Detroit City Distillery is growing — and heading north.

Detroit City Distillery, the Eastern Market-based craft spirits maker founded in 2014, has opened its first location outside the city in downtown Lexington along Lake Huron. The new outpost operates inside Foley's Market and launched in time for the July 4 season, offering the same small-batch spirits and tasting room experience the original location is known for. The expansion is a partnership with Roxbury Group, the Detroit development firm behind projects like the David Whitney Hotel, and represents a growing trend of Detroit brands finding new markets while staying rooted in the region.
