Jared Goff: a draft day stage for Merit's graduates

DETROIT. Lions quarterback Jared Goff will host a Draft Day style ceremony on July 26 for graduates of FATE, a four-year mentorship and career development program run by the nonprofit Merit. Students will walk a red carpet and announce their next steps in school or work, the way NFL prospects announce which team picked them.
Goff has backed Merit for years. Graduates say being treated like a first-round pick, even for one afternoon, means something.
