Former Rocket CEO Jay Farner just made "the largest single investment" in Detroit City FC's club history.

Jay Farner, former CEO of Rocket Companies, has made the largest single investment in Detroit City FC's history through his firm Ronin Capital Partners, and will join the club's board. The investment funds AlumniFi Field, a planned 15,000-seat soccer stadium on the former Southwest Detroit Hospital site, part of a $200 million mixed-use development that also includes a parking garage and 104-unit residential building with 76 affordable units.

The project won unanimous City Council approval and is on track to open for the 2028 USL Championship season. DCFC says it already has nearly 6,000 seat deposits and expects the development to generate over 1,000 construction jobs and 140+ permanent jobs once complete.
