Detroit Opera House: Step Afrika! makes its debut, Nov. 14
DETROIT. Step Afrika! performs at the Detroit Opera House Saturday, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m., its first time at that venue and its second Detroit stop since 2017. The company, founded in 1994 by C. Brian Williams, built its name on stepping, the percussive dance tradition.
The program runs four group works and a solo, including Tribute, which blends fraternity and sorority step styles, and Chicago, built on body percussion and overlapping rhythms.
Tickets start at $56.65 including fees at detroitoperahouse.org. Detroit residents with a valid government ID can buy two tickets for $25 each at the box office during the performance week.
