Noskova's glimpse of Wimbledon trophies on bathroom break helped her regroup to claim 1st Grand Slam

Czech tennis player Linda Noskova won her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon on Saturday, defeating fellow Czech Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in the women's singles final. After nearly blowing a 5-2 lead and losing the second set, Noskova regrouped during a bathroom break where she spotted the Venus Rosewater Dish trophy and resolved to give everything in the third set. The 21-year-old closed out the match on her sixth match point to claim the title.

Noskova's win is part of a notable streak for Czech women in tennis—she's the third Czech woman to win Wimbledon in four years, following Marketa Vondrousova (2023) and Barbora Krejcikova (2024). The final had added meaning as both players are friends and doubles partners who competed together at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Noskova dedicated her victory to her mother, who died just before the tournament two years ago.
