Downtown Detroit: free holiday activities start Nov. 11

DETROIT. Nick Gilbert Way returns with decorations, activities and seasonal shopping from Nov. 12 through Dec. 13, then again Dec. 26 through Jan. 3, with extended hours in mid December. Winter Wonders at Hudson's Detroit offers free photos with Santa, character meet and greets and interactive displays. A free Holly Trolley runs every 15 minutes connecting four holiday spots downtown, seats 30, and is ADA accessible.

The Downtown Detroit Markets set up at Cadillac Square from Nov. 11 through Jan. 3 with local makers, handmade gifts and food. Cadillac Lodge, a heated tent with seating, board games, fireplaces and food service, opens Nov. 11 and runs through Jan. 3 as a rest stop between activities.
