Penei Sewell: NFL voters call him the league's best tackle

DETROIT. NFL executives and coaches voted Lions left tackle Penei Sewell the best offensive tackle in the league, in an ESPN poll. Sewell, 25, just earned his third straight First Team All-Pro selection. One veteran defensive coach called him "the most complete player at this stage: physical, powerful, smart."

Sewell says 2025 wasn't his best season; injuries got in the way. He's moving back to left tackle this year after spending most of his time with the Lions on the right side. Coach Dan Campbell says the switch should go smoothly, pointing to Sewell's college experience at left tackle and the practice reps he's already gotten there.
