Ypsilanti schools: a STEM program funded by a $2 million Toyota grant

YPSILANTI. Ypsilanti Community Schools and Lincoln Consolidated Schools have launched the 3P Champions Collaborative Learning Initiative, a STEM and hands on learning program funded by a $2 million a year Toyota Driving Possibilities grant running 2023 through 2028. Teachers get paired with champions, experienced instructors who help build project based lessons.

The grant pays for materials and field trips, which have already reached more than 1,100 students this school year, and compensates teachers for the extra work. Both districts aim to finish a shared STEM curriculum map by April 2028.
