Casino Royale: Rugiero Promise Foundation's gala returns Nov. 7

PLYMOUTH. The Rugiero Promise Foundation holds its 16th annual Casino Royale Saturday, Nov. 7, at Saint John's Resort. The black-tie night runs casino tables, live music from the Blue Water Kings, auctions, and a multi-course dinner.

Proceeds fund diabetes research at Michigan Medicine. Restaurateur Anthony Rugiero founded the foundation in 2011; volunteers run it. Sponsors can tour the research labs and meet lead researcher Dr. Peter Arvan.

This year's theme ties to America's 250th birthday. The dress code doesn't change for it: black tie, same as every year.
