Red Oaks Park: Madison Heights reopens it Oct. 30 after a $7.1 million rebuild

MADISON HEIGHTS. Red Oaks Park reopens Friday, Oct. 30, from 3 to 5 p.m., after a $7.1 million rebuild. The park sits at 600 E. 13 Mile Road, on the site of the old Ambassador Park.
The grand opening runs a DJ, cornhole, oversized Jenga and Connect Four, and a climbing tower that requires closed-toe shoes. Costumes are welcome, and there are Halloween treat stations set up around the grounds.
The rebuild added the McGillivray Play Garden, named for the late county commissioner, along with new accessible trails, a restroom building with a shade structure, hammocks, and sledding hill repairs. Oakland County Parks runs the site.
