Totally Grosse: a podcast made by Grosse Pointe kids

GROSSE POINTE. Danielle Carlomusto and veteran radio producer Bill McAllister launched Totally Grosse, a monthly podcast hosted by local kids age 10 and up. Every segment comes from the kids' own ideas, not adult scripts.

Regular features include Taste Testers, where young reviewers rate local food spots, plus interviews with business owners and grandparents about life in the Pointes, and guest spots on topics the kids pick themselves, from Pokemon to poetry. Harbor Lanes, Ashby's Ice Cream, Yellow Light Coffee and Donuts, and The Friendship Factory have all taken part.

The show began as a summer project and grew into a monthly release on major podcast platforms. The McAllisters say any kid, grandparent, or business owner is welcome to take part; they handle the recording and production.
