Huron Valley State Bank: free shredding and e-waste drop-off Oct. 17

HIGHLAND. Huron Valley State Bank's Highland branch, at 2920 E. Highland Road, hosts free document shredding and electronics recycling Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. Each person or business can bring up to four banker's boxes of paper, truck capacity allowing.

The bank is also collecting old phones, tablets, smartwatches, cameras and similar electronics through a partnership with the Detroit Zoo and Eco Cell. Wipe personal data first. Proceeds from the recycling go toward the zoo's gorilla conservation work.
