Candlelight series: an hour of string tributes in Detroit's Gothic churches

DETROIT. The Candlelight concert series returns to Metro Detroit with string ensembles playing hourlong sets at six venues, including two Gothic sanctuaries, Sanctuary Church Birmingham and Christ Church Detroit. The series also stops at the Detroit Masonic Temple, The War Memorial, the Gem Theatre and the open-air UWM Field.
The lineup runs from classical to pop: Vivaldi's Four Seasons on October 18 (from $45.50), a Drake tribute at the Masonic Temple on November 1 (from $32.50), an Adele tribute on October 23 (from $32), and a Taylor Swift tribute on December 11 (from $39.50). A Fleetwood Mac tribute plays The War Memorial on November 8, from $45.
Each show runs about an hour and uses LED candles instead of open flame. The series sets its minimum age around 8, and younger kids need an adult along.
