Kidz Kingdom ribbon cutting: an $85,000 grant bought the building

DETROIT. Kidz Kingdom held a ribbon cutting Oct. 9 in the city's District 7, near Franklin Park. The childcare center and weekend party space won an $85,000 Motor City Match grant in Round 23.

Founder Danielle North used the grant to buy the building instead of leasing it. The business runs as a childcare center on weekdays and opens for parties and play on weekends.
