Jalen Duren: Pistons lock in their center for $200 million
DETROIT. Jalen Duren agreed to a five year, $200 million fully guaranteed contract to stay with the Pistons, ending a months long restricted free agency standoff. Duren, 22, had sought $287 million after an All-Star, All-NBA Third Team season averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds.
The dispute kept Duren away from the team through media day and the start of training camp. Pistons president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon said the front office won't hold that against him: "He's going to be a huge part of the team." Detroit won 61 games last season and added Isaiah Joe and Kevin Huerter over the offseason.
Duren's locked in. Now the Pistons find out what he looks like next to them.
