Haunted Garage: 19th season opens in Grosse Pointe Farms

GROSSE POINTE FARMS. Haunted Garage Productions opens its 19th season this weekend, spread across owner Glen Williams' yard and his parents' property next door. The scares stay family friendly, no gore, no aggressive contact, with a no scare version for younger kids. New this year: a wasp enclosure and a Jurassic Park scene with a raptor encounter, alongside returning favorites like the haunted forest, pumpkin patch, alien encounter and cornstalk walk.
The haunt runs 6 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 6 to 9 p.m. Sundays, Oct. 2 to 4, 9 to 11, 16 to 18 and 23 to 25, plus Oct. 30 and Nov. 1. Admission is $16 general, $25 for VIP line skipping; proceeds go to local schools and charities. Williams started the haunt 19 years ago after watching local PTOs struggle for funding.
Early nights and Sundays mean shorter lines and half the cost of competing haunts, Williams says.
