Protomartyr: a new single points toward Hotel Usona

DETROIT. Protomartyr released its seventh album, "Hotel Usona," on Sept. 25 via Domino Recording Co. The lead single, "Sounds We Cannot Hear," layers post punk energy with brass and sampled textures pulling from Middle Eastern and 1950s exotica sounds. Singer Joe Casey and guitarist Greg Ahee built the record around one idea: America as an aging hotel.
The new single marks a more accessible turn for the band, without losing the lyrical bite that made its name.
"Hotel Usona" is out now.
