Pumpkin patches: a dozen Ann Arbor area farms open through October

ANN ARBOR. Wells Pumpkin Farm on South Wagner Road opened Sept. 19 with free admission and pre-picked pumpkins by the cart. Wing Farm on Dexter Ann Arbor Road runs you-pick weekends through Oct. 25, also free to get in. Three Cedars Farm in Northville runs through Halloween and into the first weekend of November, with hayrides and a corn maze.

Prices vary by farm. Blast Corn Maze in Dexter charges $16 for adults and $13 for kids 5 to 12, while DeBuck's Family Farm in Belleville sells a season pass for $54.95. Most patches run through the end of October; Wiards Orchards keeps going into early November.

Hours and prices are set by each farm, not by the calendar, so check before driving out.
