Full Circle: new Grosse Pointe Park center opens for adults with disabilities

GROSSE POINTE PARK. Full Circle opened the James and Patricia Anderson Innovation Center on Sept. 8, in a former Henry Ford medical building on Jefferson. The center houses TEAM 26, the nonprofit's day program for adults with developmental disabilities. On opening day, participants made personal pizzas in the new learning kitchen.
The building also has a dining room, an art studio, classrooms and lounge spaces. Participants work on job skills and run small enterprises inside it: a resale shop, a coffee bar, floral arranging. Staff used to work out of borrowed church space; now they have their own offices.
Full Circle wants to grow TEAM 26 from 15 or 18 daily participants toward 30, and is working toward Medicaid billing. A gym and a stage are planned for the building's still unfinished lower level.
