Cass Cafe: the reopening is set for Nov. 6

DETROIT. Cass Cafe reopens Nov. 6 under the Chalfonte Foundation, a nonprofit led by Aaron Timlin, four years after the longtime restaurant and art gallery closed in 2022. The menu leans more whole foods and plant based, with a full cocktail bar and a separate mocktail menu.
An open house with a cash bar runs Sept. 26. Costume karaoke follows Oct. 17, then a Halloween party Oct. 31, ahead of the full opening. The space keeps its old mix of dining, art and gathering space, adding a low power FM station and film nights with the Motor City Cinema Society starting in January.
