Detroit Month of Design: 100 events across 30 days, its 16th year

DETROIT. Detroit Month of Design runs Sept. 1 through 30 with 100 events chosen from 250 applications, themed Design Moves the Future. Shows and installations fill venues including the Scarab Club and the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Detroit is the only U.S. city with UNESCO's City of Design title, earned in 2015. Co executive director Kiana Wenzell of Design Core Detroit says the lineup changes every year because the city does.
