Dillon Dingler, Riley Greene, and Kevin McGonigle named to AL All-Star squad

The Detroit Tigers got three players named to the 2026 MLB All-Star Game roster as reserves: catcher Dillon Dingler, rookie shortstop Kevin McGonigle (age 21), and left fielder Riley Greene (making his third straight All-Star appearance). The All-Star Game will be held in Philadelphia on July 14.
Dingler, 27, is having an exceptional season with 19 home runs and a .394 on-base percentage, ranking third in baseball in position-player WAR. He's the first Tigers catcher to make the All-Star Game in 15 years. McGonigle, the young shortstop prospect, is showing elite plate discipline and has already recorded more walks than strikeouts. He becomes only the fourth Tigers player ever to make the All-Star Game at age 21. Greene has bounced back with 12 home runs after a slow start to the season.
