The Metro: Prideraiser reaches decade milestone in Detroit

The Northern Guard, a supporters group for Detroit City Football Club, launched Prideraiser in 2017 as a fundraising initiative that turns every goal scored during June into donations for the Ruth Ellis Center, a nonprofit serving LGBTQ+ youth since 1999. Over ten years, the campaign has generated more than $300,000 through volunteer effort—painting banners, organizing events, and engaging the community year-round. The initiative shows how local sports fans and grassroots organizers can move real money to causes that matter, even amid broader corporate and industry controversies.
