Prideraiser: a decade of turning DCFC goals into donations

DETROIT. Every goal Detroit City FC scores in June turns into a donation to the Ruth Ellis Center, a nonprofit that's served LGBTQ+ youth since 1999. The Northern Guard, DCFC's supporters group, started the tradition in 2017 and calls it Prideraiser.
Ten years in, the campaign has raised more than $300,000, all built on volunteer work: painted banners, organized events, and outreach that runs year round. Northern Guard board member Jam Johnston says, "It's amazing to see everybody participate." Jake Lenz, the Ruth Ellis Center's director of development and advancement, works with the group on the effort.
