Fabric of America: 700 pieces of fashion history, through Sept. 13

DEARBORN. The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation is showing Fabric of America: Our Fashions, Textiles, and Technologies through Sept. 13. The exhibit holds more than 700 pieces, from a 1900 parade dress to the Donna Karan gown Hillary Clinton wore in 1993. Devo's Tyvek stage suits sit near a WWII wedding dress sewn from parachute silk.

Admission is free for members and included with regular museum admission for everyone else. The pieces are grouped by five American values: liberty, practicality, inventiveness, abundance, and individualism.
