Dearborn restaurant guide: Eater adds halal Mexican and Yemeni stops

DEARBORN. Eater Detroit has updated its guide to the city's restaurants, and it runs past the well-known Lebanese spots that usually get the attention. Al-Ameer, a James Beard Award winner, and Cedarland, known for rotisserie chicken, lentil soup and shawarma, still anchor the list.

Roman Village serves Italian American red sauce and calzones, Hamido specializes in shawarma, Sana'a covers Yemeni cuisine, Al Chabab serves Syrian food, and M Cantina offers halal Mexican. Dearborn's large Arab American population has long made it the region's center for Arab food, but this guide's point is that there's more to the city's table than that.
