Detroit Tigers game brings emotional reunion between organ donor family, recipient inside Comerica Park

The family of Colin Aronson, a 25-year-old Lincoln Park man who died in March, met Andy Uyttenhove for the first time at Comerica Park during Donate Life Night on Friday. Uyttenhove received Aronson's pancreas through organ donation; Aronson's decision to donate ultimately saved six lives. The reunion carried deep meaning for both families—Aronson's mother described watching Uyttenhove, once hospitalized, now standing healthy before her as "a beautiful thing," while Uyttenhove grew emotional meeting the family of the person who gave him a second chance. The Tigers game held special significance because Colin was a lifelong fan, buried in his Tigers jersey and honored by loved ones wearing team gear at his funeral.
